Find some "Luck" in Recruiting this St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, but you don't have to be Irish to get some good luck sent your way this year! Have you been searching for that four leaf clover when trying to find the perfect candidate? We've put together a list of ways you can find some luck when sourcing for those right candidates!

Keep your rabbits foot and horseshoe close. Every recruiter needs their good luck charms when finding the right candidate. Using different tools can help you find new and unique ways to source a candidate. Try using these tools in your next search- SourceHub, Entelo, or Simppler.

Avoid the pinch. When a recruiter is first given a new requirement the first thing they do is look for the keywords and prime skill set that the client is looking for. Just like a person being pinched for not wearing green on St.Patty's Day, your candidate will get the boot if they don't match with what the client is looking for. To ensure less candidate rejection always ask questions, do keyword searches, and be accurate. The more research you do on your requirement the better you understand what the client is looking for.

It's not just about luck. Being a recruiter takes more than luck in finding the right candidate. It takes hard work and dedication. Spend more time building your candidate databases and referral network. Make more calls and send more emails. Get to know your candidates so that you can more easily place them.

Cure that hiring hangover. So, you finally found the right candidate and the client has decided to hire them! Did you celebrate a little to much and forget the reason you started all of this? It's okay it happens, that's why we avoid the hiring hangover. Don't let your candidate slip between your fingers after the client has extended an offer to them. Keep your candidate warm and follow-up with them until their start date.

There's always a pot o' gold at the end of every rainbow. We get it, finding the perfect candidate can sometimes be challenging and take time. It is always important to remember that at the end of every rainbow there is a pot o' gold. In other words, your time and energy spent trying to find the right candidates will one day be rewarded when your candidate is hired. Your rainbow might be longer than others, but the day will come when you get your pot o' gold.
